Dr. Kirsten Knowles, Ed.D.
Our Founder and Consultant
Dr. Kirsten Knowles is the founder of Archipelago (ärkəˈpeləˌɡō) Education Consulting, LLC, a consulting firm that helps students and their families during the process of their journey to college; and institutions on establishing or improving programs or cultures within their organization.
HEr Accomplishments include:
- Leadership positions in American colleges admissions departments.
- Advisor to International Agents on the private school admissions placement process.
- Speaker at National Conference on methods of establishing a successful International Program within an educational setting.
- Leadership position in a private Global K-12 school.
- Training admissions personnel at the secondary and tertiary level on effective practices and the recruitment of missions-fit students.
- Increasing the diversity at a private K-12 school, ranking that school in the top 15% of the most diverse schools in America.
Dr. Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from the University of Central Florida, and Masters in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus in Organizational Justice, Equity and Inclusion from Western Illinois University.
Dr. Kirsten has traveled extensively in her roles in admissions leadership, and most recently visited the United Kingdom, China, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Bermuda to name a few. Her favorite place to travel however, will always be the Caribbean, as Dr. Kirsten was born, raised and received her early education in The Bahamas.
Dr. Kirsten is passionate about helping people and organizations find their own path in the world of education. She believes that each person and organization should have a unique experience attaining their educational goals, and in the process, she takes on the role as mentor, coach, advisor, cheerleader, and sometimes even arbitrator.
Dr. Kirsten lives in the United States, but travels often to the Caribbean and her home country of The Bahamas. In her very limited spare time, she enjoys cooking island food, traveling, gardening, family time, and creating unique bath and spa products.
